Island Activities

The waters around Asu and the neighbouring islands are rich with life, making this a special place for both fishing and spearfishing. Trevally are often seen hunting in the waves right in front of the lodge, while the deeper channels and reef edges bring in bigger species like Mahi-mahi, Wahoo, Sailfish, Dogtooth Tuna and Marlin. Whether you’re casting from the rocks, heading out by boat, or exploring the northern reefs with a speargun, there’s always a good chance of finding something exciting in the water.

Calm, warm water and untouched coral reefs make the Hinako’s a beautiful place to snorkel. Explore many sheltered parts of the Archipelago, with clear blue waters, colourful reef, tropical fish, turtles and plenty of marine life to discover. It’s an easy way to slow down, explore the islands from a different angle, and enjoy the quiet underwater world just beyond the shore.

Set right on the water’s edge, our gazebo looks directly out over the wave, with the jungle behind you and the islands in front. It’s a peaceful spot to stretch, practice yoga, read, or simply sit back with a drink and watch the day unfold. From sunrise over the islands to sunset over the ocean, it’s one of the best places at the lodge to slow down and take it all in.
