ACTIVITIES
Diving & Spearfishing
Asu Island has some of the best diving and snorkeling around Nias.
The clear warm blue waters that surround these islands and the untouched coral reefs and the abundance of fish, turtles and other marine life means anyone can enjoy this amazing underwater world from the calm eastern side to the more wave rich northern tip favoured by spear fishermen.
Fishing
The fishing in Asu & the surrounding islands is superb with Trevally often seen hunting in the waves directly in front of our lodge.
Throwing a plug, popper or spoon almost always produces a fish with guys landing G.T.S, Bluefin Trevally, Big Eye, Dogtooth Tuna, Mackerel & Snapper.
The deep nutrient rich waters that stretch through to Africa hit the shallow reefs in the Hinakoes and bring in a number of big game species and venturing out in our boat you’re sure to hook into something bigger like a Sailfish, Mahi-mahi, Wahoo, King Mackerel or Marlin.
SUP
Paddling around the island on one of our inflatable SUP’s is unforgettable.
Make sure you wear a hat and use plenty of sunscreen because you can easily spend hours exploring the reefs from above.
Gazebo
Our Gazebo sits close to the waters edge, directly in front of the wave allowing you views of the rising sun over the islands and the setting sun over the ocean.
With the jungle behind you, you’d be hard pressed to find a more suitable location to practice yoga, stretch or relax with a sundowner.
