Paradise
“I have been fortunate enough to travel the world and experience some wonderful places many of which claim to be “Paradise” but after visiting Sozinhos for the first time in January 2017, I realize that all before were but versions of paradise.
The awe-inspiring location and diversity of Asu and its neighbouring islands. The ocean that caresses the island with its perfect swell resulting in long, clean, uninterrupted and deserted barrels. The abundance of marine and bird life that is enough on its own. The lush green of Asu, the clear blue of the ocean and the white of the sands is a sensory experience that words cannot do justice. All of this and so much more is viewed through your own eyes every day from your own private balcony at Sozinhos Surf Lodge. Incredible meals with the same sensory explosion but this time on a plate and in your mouth coupled with wonderful hospitality from the hosts, it really doesn’t get any better.
For all of the above there is something more to Sozinhos and the island. There is a connection with nature, the ocean and the immediate surroundings that can be found in such few places today. Your mind and body releases the everyday clutter and stresses that affect us all as soon as you set foot on Asu and drop your bag at Sozinhos. It’s a feeling of complete and utter contentment, a feeling of being at one with your surroundings, nature and immersing yourself in it’s unspoilt virgin beauty.
For me it was a life-changing experience, it really is Paradise found.”
